The Courage to Remember Exhibit is Coming to the Academy

09/04/13

The Army and Navy Academy is pleased to announce that  the Museum of Tolerance's traveling Holocaust exhibit, "The Courage to Remember,"  will be on  display in Davis Hall for two weeks starting September 27, 2013.

Open to the public, this exhibit was created by the educational wing of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. This interactive exhibit uses displays and technology to educate visitors about the history and background of the Holocaust, as well as its lasting effects.  It has been called one of the "six must see Museums in the United States" by U.S. News & World Report. We encourage everyone to visit this historically significant exhibit.

The Foundation for California is traveling across the state to display the exhibit in various locations.  It has already been shown in over 15 countries and viewed by millions of people since it opened in 1988.

The showing of this exhibit at Army and Navy Academy continues our efforts to educate our students about the Holocaust.  For the past four years, Gerhard Maschkowski, an Auschwitz survivor has come to the Academy to speak to cadets about his experience during the Holocaust and transition to life afterward, encouraging religious tolerance.

Army and Navy Academy is proud to be the host of this prestigious exhibit, which will educate the community on the past, so that we can work toward a better future.
